D'Lux First of Many - (E.V.)
E.V. was the first dog to be rescued by Doggone Dogs from the Miami Dade
Animal Control...
Our general manager was attending a meeting & arrived early to go through the
kennels to see the dogs. In the outside runs was a darling Dalmatian. She was
smaller than the other dogs & seemed to be intimidated by them. But her cage
card said she had just come in so she wouldn't be available for adoption for
several more days. We visited a few days later to check on her & she was curled
in a ball, depressed & unwilling to make eye contact. It was obvious from her
rapid weight loss that she hadn't been eating.
Joe Mora, the shelter manager, agreed to allow us to take her home without the
mandatory spay because she was so weak & frail she couldn't undergo surgery.
It didn't take long for E.V. to recuperate.
She became sleek, strong & beautiful & one of a kind.
Her coat was so unusual... like other dalmatians, she had black spots on the
smooth white coat.. but on her chest & front legs, she had blonde spots too.
A tri-colored dalmatian.
E.V. decided she didn't want to go to another home. She settled in with us &
whenever she was taken to an adoption event, she remained aloof &
dis-interested in the potential adopters.
She stayed with us until she passed away last summer (2005).

Rest in peace our beloved E.V.
You are missed so much.
